We have received a request for any information about the Pierce-Arrow Dealership in Providence during the mid-teens. Please forward any information about name, the location would also be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave
My 1918 48HP touring has a small brass and enamel button on the left dash door that reads
“Sold by A. J. Howard Co., Providence, R.I.” No address is available. Hope you find more info!

Thanks Miles!
So far that leads me to a 1916 A.J Howard purchase of the former Crane & Bratish Motor Co. but no other info on Howard. Need to keep looking, but at least we now have a good clue.

A set of keys marked “Pierce Arrow Hood Locks” also came with this car.
There is a tag attached to them which reads “A.J. Howard, Waldoboro, Pierce Arrow.”
Waldoboro is probably in Maine. The mystery deepens.

A Pierce-Arrow dealer in a city often had an agent(s) in other cities in the general area which may account for the markings on the keys.
