Radiator Cap

I believe the Series 80 had a black bakelite radiator cap. Does anyone kn ow a source for a new one? I suspect someone has made these. I know Lionel Stone produced all metal nickel/chrome at one point but I believe the correct one is the black one. Tom Abbott

Hi Tom,

I can’t speak directly about Series 80, but both my Series 81 and Series 33, both very original, unmolested cars, have black hard-rubber radiator caps.

The Series 81 cap is shown on the left. It is slightly smaller than the Series 33 cap, both in diameter and height. The Series 33 cap, on the right with the moto-meter, is just a little bigger.

I don’t know of anybody making these, but have seen them occasionally on EBay.
