We need a radiator cap for our 1934 Pierce-Arrow 5 passenger club sedan. The NAPA part number is incorrect. Anyone have any ideas please?

Here is a listing for a ’35, is it different?

For a 12 cylinder you need a cap like this.

Single lever with the inside grip lugs. The dimensions in this auction look right. I measured the OD of my cap and it was 2 7/16.

Here is a listing for a ’35 to ’38 radiator cap that is NOS and is less than $19 shipped.

Appears that the seller has more than one available.

The original rad cap for 1934 through 1938 Pierce-Arrows, both the eight and twelve cylinder model caps were the same. Depending how much of a “purist” you are, this was the “original.” Others will do the job just as well.

    Three photos are included.

They’re out there, just have to search those flea markets.

In the late 30’s, Chevrolet used a cap similar to the one used by Pierce-Arrow from ’34 to ’38 with a single lever on the side. Not exact, however, close. These are easier to find.

    Paul,

You are 100% correct. It is the closest I’ve seen in all the years of searching. The difference is that little “handle””–it isn’t curved down

asmuch as the one Pierce used. That is an easy “”FIX.””
