Request for “Autobody” monthly issues 1922-1931.

Hi Friends,

I am a car collector based in Delhi, India and also a keen collector of books and literature on the history of Automobiles.

I am posting this here to enquire if anyone here can provide me or help me with the purchase of original/reprint/ PDF versions of the trade journal “Autobody” published monthly from 1922 – 1931, New York City.

As this publication had a run for 10 years and was primarily meant for the custom body builder trade at that time, I do realize that finding originals to purchase may be difficult.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance in helping me find any reprints/ soft copies of the “Autobody”1922 – 1931 or if you could point me to a source where I could possibly find these.

I will be happy to pay any cost for the original/reprints/ PDF versions, for issues that may be available.

Diljeet,

A search of Google Books lists several issues from around 1930 and says the original came from the University of Michigan.  Both places might be worth checking into further.

To my knowledge there is only one complete set known, belonging to a collector from Massachusetts who refuses to share or copy them. If your car is actually in the magazine he will give you the photo and article. I know him, but have never asked him about them.
