I am doing a valve job on my 1927 series 80 roadster. The valves and guides are available from Egge but the price they quoted me for the guides sees very high- $135 each. Does anyone know of another supplier of valve guides?
Try Then and Now Automotive in Weymouth, MA. They are primarily known for their rebuilding of mechanical fuel pumps, but also have a warehouse full of mechanical parts. About 12 years ago, I bought S80 valve springs from them for about $7.50 each.
VERY nice people to deal with.
I searched and found valve guides at summit racing. The guides are for a Mack truck engine. They are the correct ID and OD only a little shorter which is not a problem. The best part is that they are $2.99 each the guides come pre- knurled and reamed. Just push out the old ones with an air hammer and push in the new ones.
