I have used Apple Hydraulics in Santa Ana with great results.

They were a little pricey compared to other places listed in the Parts & Services directory but since they are here in So Cal I was able to just drop off and pick up my shocks.

They do great work and since you are also in So Cal they may be your best bet, especially if you don’t want to risk shipping your shocks.

thanks Craig. Do you have a number for them. I did not see them as having a west coast office. Thanks

Perhaps you mean Five Points? I had a set of Delco Lovejoys done for my 1934 and they have held up well. A bit pricey, yes, but they honored my request for a quick turnaround.

    George, you are correct.

It is Five Points in Santa Ana.

No idea why I had Apple Hydraulics on my mind when I responded originally.

    Syd, sorry for the confusion.

Apple Hydraulics also does that rebuild work and is also expensive. ;-)

Five Points rebuilt the shocks for our ’36.

Their price was great and turn-around time was fast.

    I’d certainly use them again.

I got hung up with Five Points on my 1927’s shocks; the business was being sold to someone and I had…problems. When I finally started getting them one shock had leaked fluid in the shipping box and one had its fill plug completely stripped when I took it out of the package. The new owner tried to get everything right but I sent one shock to Apple to get it right.

I hope the new owner has it straightened out. I don’t want to hurt their business just for meaness but I am going to Apple.

Randy, how long ago was this?

My last dealings with Five Points was about 8 years ago.

I have reservations about APPLE……..every time I send them shocks……..they need more core shocks. I never get my old parts back no matter how many time I call………I think they keep them and use them for parts…….conjecture but its happened four or five times. And I always send them good shocks, lately we rebuild our own…..

Keeping extra parts that you send them is nonsense.

That right there would be enough for me to never do business with them after the 2nd time they did that.

2017. I was without shocks at St Louis last summer.
