I have a 1932 Club Brogham Model 54. The starter has a broken nose. Does anyone know what the original starter was and where I might get a rplacement or somebody capable of welding and repairing the original?
Thank You!

Len,
I show you should have a Delco 497 Starter.
Bill
I got this form the Cadillac Forum
model #497 fits Pierce Arrow 1932 model 54
1933-35 8 cyl
1935 v12 models 1245,1255
Stude 1932 -33 President models 91,92
It can also be used in place of # 498 Pierce 32-34 v12,35 models 1240,1248A,
.and in place of DY 1242 which fits Pierce 1934 v12.
If you get a 12 starter you have to clock it. Welding the cone can cause issues. We had a hard turning over car, worked on it for 2 weeks and still issues. Turned out the cone was welded crooked and the starter was binding under load only, bench tested fine.
I don’t know if this has any parts in common.
