Have been talking with another PAS member about vintage Sun distributor machines, and thought I’d also share a source for parts and repairs, should you need them. I’ve only good things to say about Paramount Distributor for parts to get my 1948 Sun 504 back in order. As most of you know the old Sun and Allen machines are indispensable for setting up a host of vintage distributors, automotive, marine, etc.

Carl,
Thanks for the information. It has been added to the Parts and Services Directory page. Dave
For those of us using an Allen Synchrograph Model 30-89 distributor machine, a free download of the Operator’s Manual is available on the internet. The document was prepared in 1966 by the Army for their own use and updated during that same era. Because it was developed by a US Government agency and marked for unlimited distribution, it is available to all at no charge. It is well written and also covers distributors using dual sets of points for different cylinders, of which our cars with 8 cylinders using dual coils are one example. Thank you very much, Herb!
