    Hello all!

A recent engine recommissioning on a 1925 80, led us to check the torque required to turn the harmonic balance flywheel. It was immediately evident that at a previous rebuild, that flywheel had been installed “inside out” and an additional disc (apparently made from Masonite), had been added. The result of this repair caused damage to the end of the timing chain tensioner shaft, making it non functional.

We have machined a new shaft and installed it, but now need information pertaining to the friction discs. We would like to know if anyone knows the correct thickness of these discs and their composition? Our initial measurements indicate that they might start at about 0.1750″.

Thanks for your interest, Doug Nelson
