About 2 years ago I drove it into the trailer and drove it out at an upholsterer who spent over a year rebuilding top and carpet in back.
When I went to pick it up the engine was stuck tight. When I got around to working on it again and tried all the ways I could think of to break it loose , it did not budge until I loosened rod cap and with heads removed which was a major chore itself I was able to rotate the Crank away from the rod then drive the piston down with a 4 lb sledge which freed it up.
I wanted to be sure the radiator did not leak befor putting it it back so I filled it up laying flat and it did not leak I was so glad for that, until
I put it on the car and filled with water and had several leaks so back off and to the Radiator shop???? 3 that we used before were all gone some online searching found more that were no longer in business but I finally found a shop that patched it and put it back on and it holds water. Then tried to start but had no spark due to no continuity from center of rotor to the outer contactor. Cleaned that up and it started but only one side was firing. the other rotor is missing the center contactor. Does anyone know where I can get one?
Try getting in touch with Tom Vanmeetering his email is [email protected] – he advertises a lot of NOS ignition parts on the AACA Forum and many people have good reviews for him. Good luck!
I have found a cap with a good contactor so I put it in the existing cap aand now ha dual ignition, soldered a leak in the line that supplies water to the intake manfold tightened the packing on the water pump shaft. About ready for a test drive
