I have installed the windshield wiper motor in my ’35 sedan. I am close to sending it out for upholstery and was looking at pictures of Paul Johnsons original ’35. It appears that there is no access to service the wiper motor and linkage once the upholstery is tacked in short of tearing the fabric back above the windshield after removing the windshield reveal frame. Is that the case or am I missing something?
That’s correct.
Why not artfully use a modern innovation like Velcro to attach the upholstery here, rather than stapling or tacking it in place? Well-done, no one would realize it, and it would be easily removable for repair of the wiper mechanism.
Yes, that’s a good idea, I think I will see if that can be done when it goes to upholstery. Thanks! Jim
