Thank you sooooooo. Much. !
Hi Richard, does that match or come close to that wrapped-in-plastic connector you showed at the beginning of this thread??
I’d like to see that connector when removed from the plastic bag.
Is there a bakelite disc and divider inside the connector? or just loose wires?
Which wiring-harness company did you buy your harness from? I’m going to need to buy a harness
for a car soon, and would like to know which one you bought, and by looking at that connector-in-the-bag, to see how the completeness and quality of the product.

Greg,
Thanks for all your help. I will snap a picture of the connector. The harness came from Y n Z. The mechanic said it was a great job. I will post the photo to see if it is all their. I looked at the end of the steering colum. It looks to have a bakalight piece in the center of it. I suspect there might be something missing but I have not idea what. Hopefully you can fill me in with photos.

Greg,
I think the bakalight piece is broken. The mechanic is going to call Y n Z. and get them to replace it. I had an empty coupler when I started.
Ed,
The valve cover with the breather tube is on correctly. It is to the rear of the engine and facing downward. We looked at the pre disassembly photos that showed the same.
Thanks for checking. At this stage, I would definitely rather be safe than sorry.
Richard, I checked google images and see three cars with the vent opposit where yours currently is. Also a 29 factory image shows it opposit also. Greg, can you post a photo of your 29, does it have the stack and tube on it? Ed.
Ed,
I think you are correct. I found this picture in my research stash. If the cover was placed incorrectly in 29, might it be the reason the engine failed later in life? The pierce decal was placed correctly with the value cover upside down. mmmm?
Thanks for your efforts and going to the effort of double checking for my benefit. Myself and the Phaeton thank you immensely. Rick
No worries! 👍
