Gents & Ladies,
The OPTIMA RED-TOP, 6-VOLT BATTERY DEAL is COMING SOON!
I understand from Optima-Jim that it should run from 1 April through 15 April.
It is only 2-weeks in duration this year, but it will run.
Everyone NEEDS to tell their Non-Message Board / Emporium watching PAS buddies about the deal, and that they NEED to come Online to get the details.
I will post the ordering information here on the Message Board and on the Emporium as soon as I have it.
Peter
Gents & Ladies,
Both Larry and June Gould were great supporters of the national PAS and of the New England PAS in particular.
They were both wonderful folks an they are both missed at our various PAS get-togethers.
May they both Rest-in-Peace.
Peter
Jim,
The things we do for love.
Cheers,
Peter
Jim,
The aluminum will corrode, so you should consider painting it with clear coat after installing & pinning it.
Or, you might consider going to a Locksmith and see if they have said cap kicking around on one of the zillion similar locks they have in their boxes of stuff.
They also might even have the correct lock that just needs to be keyed to your P-A key.
Finally, some PAS guys likely have something like it in their box of locks.
I will look in my small collection of door/spare tire locks.
Is it a Yale Lock?
Peter
Bill,
It is not difficult to get any Graphics or Sign Company to reproduce something like that, but they will require a minimum order of X-Number of pieces, so you will have a bunch to sell.
You will just need to come up with the rough artwork, including colors, and they will create it for you as a decal, or whatever.
Peter
Gents,
I am just keeping this notice up at the top of the listings so everyone who frequents the Message Board has a chance to see it!
I will be in touch as soon as I know the particulars.
Peter
Bill,
BTW, if needed, a locksmith can likely re-key your locks.
Peter
Gents,
That is Vin Cahill’s Series 80.
It was posted here for a while, but then disappeared.
It is a nice car, but I don’t know if it remains available.
Peter
Ken,
The Feather-Lite is an all aluminum frame, and Ed Minnie will argue against it because if you torque your Feather-Lite frame, you cannot straighten it as you can with a steel framed trailer.
in my area, Feather-Lite trailers are for Horse-People who tow their horses to Equestrian competitions with their Range Rover HSE.
There are a TON of good car hauler trailer makers out there.
To respond to Tony’s post, there are about six in the Hazleton, PA area, if that is at all significant in your case.
I have a United Trailer, UTX model with all kinds of bells and whistles.
It is an Aluminum body on a steel frame.
If you wish to discuss the long list of what you need on a trailer, be in touch.
Peter
David,
You are a veritable fount of all information Pierce-Arrow!
you do Excellent work.
Bravo, Bravo!
Peter
Kevin,
Here is a link to LED bulbs.
They don’t specifically show a 1129, but may have it.
Peter
Gents,
Also, the S/N on the generator is: 30002226.
Peter
Gents,
I just checked the bands on my Series 80 generator and starter and they are both nickel plated, not chrome.
Peter
Bob,
Yes, shame on me, but I am unsure if I had raw steel generator and starter bands plated nickel, or if I cheeped out and just had chromed bands made.
Likely the former (nickel plated).
Now that the question is raised, I will remove one or both and compare them with my Series 80 radiator shell and other brightwork which I had plated in nickel.
And yes, I believe that chrome began to arrive on P-A cars in 1928 or 1929, however, I will check with Wayne or Marc Hancock, a.k.a, Master Restorer & Son, on those details.
Peter
David White,
Perhaps, the Classic Generator Company in Texas should be added to the list of Generator Service / Repair people on the Parts & Service section of the website.
Peter
Bob,
Is there space for a piece of glass between the back of the front seat and the mahogany wood cap?
BTW, lovely inlays and it looks like there are lots of fingernails scratches in the center.
Perhaps the recollections are of riding in a similar Series 81, but not this one?
Peter
Ken,
I believe that all of the Series 80 /81 Sedans had fixed front seats.
It is a shame for we long-legged Gents who do not have a Chauffeur.
Peter
Gents,
The Valvoline VR1 Racing Oil, SAE-30W contains; 1,400-ppm of Zinc and 1,300-ppm of Phosphorus.
Ditto with their 40W, 50W and 60W oils.
Boy, I love doing online research!
