Lawrence David Sorcher

On behalf of the Pierce-Arrow Society, we honor the life and legacy of Lawrence David Sorcher, a devoted member and cherished friend, who passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2026, at the age of 86, surrounded by his loving family.

Larry, along with his beloved wife Joyce, was a longtime and enthusiastic member of the Pierce-Arrow Society. Together, they shared a deep appreciation for the elegance, craftsmanship, and history of classic automobiles—particularly their treasured Pierce-Arrow cars. Larry’s passion for collecting and preserving antique vehicles was evident to all who knew him, and he took great joy in connecting with fellow enthusiasts, sharing stories, and participating in the camaraderie that defines our Society.

Beyond his love of automobiles, Larry was a man of remarkable character and wide-ranging interests. Born on October 31, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, he built a life defined by entrepreneurial spirit, community involvement, and devotion to family. As the longtime steward of Al’s Bootery, the business founded by his father in Freehold, New Jersey, Larry became a beloved figure in his community, continuing a tradition of service that spanned generations.

Larry’s warmth, humor, and unmistakable personal style—often marked by his signature cowboy hats—left a lasting impression. Whether behind the wheel of a classic car, attending a car event, or enjoying a simple Sunday drive, he embraced life with enthusiasm and authenticity.

Those who knew Larry through the Pierce-Arrow Society will remember not only his passion for fine automobiles, but also his kindness, generosity, and genuine friendship. He and Joyce exemplified the spirit of fellowship that makes our community so special.

Larry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce; his children, grandchildren, and extended family, all of whom he loved deeply and who were the center of his life.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Joyce and the entire Sorcher family. Larry will be deeply missed, and his memory will continue to ride with us on every open road.
