| Vehicle History | Original Owner – Melville E. Stone of Chicago, IL. Stone was the Founder and Owner of the Chicago Daily News in 1876 and the General Manager of the re-organized Associated Press in 1893. Melville Stone bought the car in 1923 as a country vehicle for the family compound on the north end of Great Beal Lake, west of Bloomingdale, Michigan. Mr. Stone gave his 1923 Pierce to his Michigan caretaker, Homer Cooley as a gift of appreciation in the 1940s. In the 1950s, Clyde Pohl bought and owned the car. David Barclay purchased the car from Clyde Pohl of Holland, MI in 2003 |
