| Vehicle History | From Steve Pugh: Leonard Urlik was my closest friend. I still feel his loss every day. We went to Hershey together every year through the 1980’s and early 1990’s. After he died, all of his cars were inherited by one of his sons, Rick. Rick died a couple of years later at the age of 27. His family sent the Pierce and two other cars (Cord cabriolet and DuPont Victoria) to me to help them sell in 2003. I was able to drive the car for some number of months and it was a wonderful car and a pleasure to drive. I sold the car to Sonny Abignale on behalf of the family. Leonard bought the car indirectly from Irv Davis, who was also a friend. The sale did not go directly from Irv to Leonard but was held for a short time by Tiny Gould in Arizona. Leonard traded several cars to Gould for the Pierce including a boat tail Hudson Essex and a 1935 Auburn cabriolet. Years before, Leonard, Irv, and I went to see Stan Long’s collection in Santa Ynez California sometime the early or mid 1980’s. Irv ended up buying the car from Stan long. Leonard always admired the car and after Irv sold it to Tiny Gould, who was a well-known automotive wheeler dealer, decided that that he wanted the car. |
