Vehicle History

Member Jason Miller recently (2021) purchased this Convertible Coupe from the estate of Mrs.Mae Robertson Cooley in
Birmingham, Alabama. It had been found in a basement garage. The car had been purchased by Mrs Cooley in 1954.
She took a bus to Galveston Texas by herself and drove it back to Birmingham Alabama. In the late 1960’s, her husband,
Dr. Harold N. Cooley, Sr, a Physician, began to partially disassemble it for paint and rechroming. He became ill
and passed away. Mrs. Cooley closed the area off and would not allow access to the car. It remained in storage until
Mrs. Cooley passed in 2020 at 94 years of age. It was then purchased by Jason in September of 2021.
The car came with a complete ownership history including original titles and registrations starting with the original owners, A.J. Rasmussen and Sons of Galveston, Texas. The car was sold to E.J. Backburn Jr., also of Galveston, in April
of 1950. He in turn sold the car to Mrs Cooley in April of 1954.
The car is rust free but was missing a number of parts that had been removed from the car. Among them were the
headlights, the top mechanism and many trim items. Jason had already started the search for replacement parts when
he was contacted by the estate who reported they had found a trunk with most of the missing parts.

The photos show the car as found and one of it in 1933.
