    I looked through about ten pages of messages here and cannot find the thread in which someone was looking for a 12volt startix for their Pierce that had been converted to 12v.

    I have seen a few of them over the years, always wondered what the application was for?

    According to Jim McCarthy, who has an extensive collection of about 25 Startix units. The 12v units were made for the US government for remote starting of generators used at large installations. So, instead of one central power system the locations uses many separate generators, so that if attacked, or damaged somehow, the entire location would not be without power,

    The remote generators could be started from a control bunker using the statix units, and only very small wires instead of huge power cables were run throughout the facility.
