Does anyone have a spare block?  have there been new castings over the years?   is there any available?

    Any patterns existing?

I have two 1911 model 36’s. I am in need of some water jacket repairs, but i am preparing for worst case scenarios.   Also, with 6 pairs to look after i should have at least one extra pair in case of tradgedy!

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Jay,

I have a 1919 Model 51 that had a very nasty crack in one of the jugs (apparently, a previous owner thought some epoxy and black enamel was the way to repair it).  The jug looked potentially unrepairable once the epoxy and corrosion were cleaned.  However, I had prior experience with Lock-n-Stitch in Turlock, CA and contacted them. (I would note that they have been acquired by Wartsila Marine and their old website is gone.  Phone number is (209) 632-2345)  They did a near-miraculous repair on the jug.  It wasn’t cheap, but compared to a new casting or even an old jug….
