Does anyone have any information and/or photos of the cars Pierce displayed at the 1918
New York Auto Show. I’d like to find out what cars were on the show floor for Pierce that year.
Thanks
Richard,
I believe an earlier issue of the Arrow mentioned a list of the Pierce Arrows at the 1918 New York Auto show. You might try searching the index for these.I hope you got the taillight on Ebay.
Bill,
I did get the tail light on Ebay. Thanks.
I looked through the index for the past Arrow’s and couldn’t find any reference to the
1918 NY Auto Show……Is there somewhere else I could look ?
Thanks,
Richard,
My earlier Arrows are handy and I can check them but please give me a bit of time.I do recall one car was trimmed in brass.Glad you got the taillight as it looked like a nice one.I wonder who the other bidder was.
No problem.
My reason for wanting to look into the 1918 New York Auto show is that inside the right headlight
on my car is written the serial number. Also, it says show car……?? not sure what that means, but wonder
if it was one of the cars on the show floor that year ??
Thanks
Richard –
Period magazines such as Motor, Motor Age, Vehicle Monthly and Automotive Industries will have stories about the New York show with some pictures. The AACA Library in Hershey has many of these magazines; they take research requests, and can make scans. The NAHC at the Detroit Public Library has lots of old photos; they may have some original prints of the 1918 New York show.

The 1918 Show Instructions for Pierce-Arrow salesmen are reprinted in Arrow 79-4.This includes a list of show cars both at New York and Chicago
Roger,
Thanks for this, I’ll do some research……
