I need three of the four flathead slotted screws which fasten the toe board down. I believe it is a fine-thread, 5-16 inch, approx 2 inches long, with a pointed end.  Pretty unlikely but thought I would ask.

    Hi Randy,

The local hardware store is the first stop. The pointed end makes them unusual. If nothing else they should have a thread gauge so you can determine the size and thread count.

If you have the head type, thread and size, you can check McMaster-Carr. https://www.mcmaster.com/screws/

    or Fastenal. https://www.fastenal.com/product/Fasteners/Screws?categoryId=600051

or a specialty supplier such as Misumi  https://us.misumi-ec.com/vona2/mech_screw/

Assuming they are a standard thread, you can always grind/file the pointed end on a standard screw. Are these from your S 80?

    Hi, Dave; they’re 5/16-24 x 1 1/2 inch.

I did find some new ones but it was after a lot of searching. There are plenty of -18 thread on the market. I could have changed the caged nut to a -18 and gone on from there.

I checked bolt depot, they show course but not fine thread and no pointed end. The pointy end could be a help, I remember struggling to get my toe board screws centered and engaged with regular flat heads.

    Randy,

The 24 tpi aren’t as common but are out there.  At any rate it sounds like you found some.

I did find some; pointed end eases assembly but is not necessary.

    Thanks everyone!
