    I was just reading the article on the 8 cylinder engine in the feature page and noticed the following casting NO. I-7-9 (July 7, 1928) was thought to an early one. I was curios to ask what is the earliest casting date found so far?

    My spare engine has No. I-1-23

    This would indicate that PA was casting their engines at South Bend as early as Jan 23, 1928
