PAS Members Linnea Shoberg and Ben Oakes were married on October 22, 2016 at the estate of Ernie Follis in Vista, CA. The wedding was well attended by both families and friends with the theme of Pierce-Arrow.

Linnea and Ben meet at the 2013 Pierce-Arrow National Meet held in Minden, NV. It was on the second day of touring to Virginia City that Ben bought a round of drinks for the table which included Linnea Shoberg. Although the stage was set, nothing transpired from that first drink.

It was not until early 2015 when Ben called Linnea about holding a Pierce-Arrow event in Southern California that the relationship started to blossom. What began as a 15 minute phone called turned into an hour, followed by more calls till an invitation was extended for a party in San Diego, CA in June 2015. From that time the two were inseparable.

As time pasted and life changes occurred, Ben asked Linnea to marry him. The date was set for October. Being that the two meet during a Pierce-Arrow Meet, it was only fitting to have the wedding surrounded by the cars that brought them together.

Pointed out by PAS Member Bill Lawton, “…the reason why everyone was brought together (to the wedding) was Pierce-Arrow.”. Everyone who attended, including families and friends, came together because of the Pierce-Arrow Motor Car.

Below are a few pictures we would like to share with the Society.

Many thanks to Ernie Follis for sharing his home with us and to Bill Lawton who, with Ernie, walked the bride down the isle. Also, many thanks goes out to the friends and society members who sent us well wishes on our wedding day. We are very luck to have so many great friends who share a common interest with the cars.

Two little words will ensure a long and happy relationship, but you both need to use them liberally:
