Beauty Rings

My ’32 Pierce has beauty rings inside each wheel. Does anyone know how these things are fastened on? Also, does anyone have any experience in removing them without damaging them? Any information would be most helpful. Thank you.

I just removed 4 from wheels of a 1934 that burned in a barn fire last year. I didn’t have to bee too careful because the paint on the wheels was damaged in the fire. The beauty rings have a row of tabs on the back of the ring that are slightly bent out to yield a diameter just a tad larger than the wheel rim where they fit. I used a wooden paint stiring stick to carefully hanmmer between the ring and the wheel, going around the wheel a bit at a time. Three came off easily. One was a real toughie, but finally came off. They buffed out beautifully and are going on my new ’33 I am now completing. Hope this helps
