The shaft diameter is 3/4 inch and it is about 6 inches long. On the end of the shaft there is an end plate that serves as a thrust bearing and it has a spiral groove that appears to pump lubricant through the bearings. There is a cup inside the housing that appears to sling the lubricant back to the end plate.

I would like to know what years this fan assembly was used?

Was it lubricated with oil or grease and what kind?

What kind of a seal was used where the shaft exits the housing?

They were used 29 to 38. They can be converted to modern seals so they won’t leak. I replaced my 36 with modern timkin bearings and seals, no leaks for 20 years…. Ed
