    See my earlier posting below.

Well after all of your help it turns out that the problem was with the mechanical fuel pump and NOT vapor lock afterall. What happened was that there is an internal hole in the SW fuel pump that seperates the inlet and the discharge sides. It is for original construction purposes when the pump is fabricated and is them plugged. This plug came loose and allowed the pump pressure to bleed back into the inlet bowl and give the appreance of bubble that you might see if it was vapor lock. When the electrci pump was turned on this initially overcame the mechanical pump pressure but as the RPM’s increased the back pressure caused an obstruction and ultimately starved the carb. Thanks for everyones help and if you have similiar symptoms in the future let me know and I can put you in touch with the guy who helped me out. His name is Mike and he works for Then and Now Automotive on the Right coast.
