I want to replace the rubber grommets (8 round ones and 2 oblong ones) for the spark plug wires on my 1932 eight cylinder. Can any rubber grommets be used, or do they have to be made of a special, high temperature rubber? Where can the correct grommets (especially the two oblong ones) be purchased? Thanks.
Regular grommets for the round holes are OK.Local hardware should have. Nothing special. I used small rubber tubing like vacuum hose sliced lengthwise on one side and formed oblong to fit the oblong hole.
You may find that larger round gromets will assume the oblong shape when forced into the holes.
