There have been discussions both in this Forum and in the Service Bulletin regarding starting problems when the engine is hot. We all know that the formula of the gasoline over years has been changed. As to this vapor lock occurs in our old cars. The high temperature under the hood is one of the reason. Many of the Pierce-Arrows have the exhaust manifold connected to the exhaust pipe in front of the engine. The heated pipe is going down and under the carburator. Do you take the point? I have made a shield from stainless steel covered with an isolating material.
