I have a newly overhauled engine on the dyno. I am experiencing low oil pressure. National Data says there is adjustment in the oil pump. I see none there. Is there a place to adjust oil pressure?

    Bill,

If you set the search engine to Engine-8 Cylinder Specific-oil pump

There are several articles that may help

There is a bypass relief valve on the oil pump. You would have to drop the oil pan, and remove the large hex nut/plug on the bypass relief valve, and either shim the spring to make it stronger, or replace the spring with a stronger one.

What weight oil is in the engine, and what oil pressure are you seeing at what RPM?

Yes, check that the pressure relief spring isn’t broken and that the plunger moves freely. I had a brand X go to zero oil pressure due to a tiny burr on the pressure relief valve plunger. My Pierce oil pressure relief valve spring had one pit of corrosion that likely could have caused the spring to collapse dropping the oil pressure. I found a near replacement that requires an extra shim washer. I had to buy ten so if you find you need one let me know.
