It is with deep regret that I report the death of longtime Wills Sainte Claire & Pierce-Arrow devotee, J. Fred Cleaver, of Marysville, MI.
Fred passed away on August 6, 2016 after a short hospital stay. He was 85.
Along with being a Board and founding member of the Wills Sainte Claire Auto Museum, Fred at one time owned the oldest recorded Wills known to exist, a 1921 Roadster.
We will miss Fred’s knowledge of Wills and his other favorite car, Pierce-Arrow, and his contagious spirit and enthusiasm for antique automobiles.
I will never forget that it was Fred who introduced me to the world of Pierce-Arrow.
Here are the arrangements for our friend, Fred Cleaver:

Bless Fred Cleaver-never was there a more fine man, devout PA enthusiast and committed member of the PAS. Susan and I will miss him greatly. Condolences to his family.

A good friend and a true gentleman, I will always remember him with a smile on his face, active and positive well into his eighties, I always enjoyed our talks. Good bye my friend, rest in peace.
Not seeing Fred at the Annual Meets will feel very incomplete, almost an end of an era. A member for 47 years, he’d attended all but a couple of meets! A good membership recruiter for the Society, a strong supporter of the Museum, and a very good friend. A great loss for the Pierce-Arrow community!
Fred had registered for the Gathering at Gilmore just 2 weeks ago so I was hoping his health had really improved.
Dave
Fred was a friend to anyone who met him. He and Rosie are together again.
Rick
A real gentleman and the consummate PAS participant and supporter, Fred will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all of us.
George
A fine person who was pleasant to everyone. I always enjoyed talking with him and will certainly miss his positive outlook on everything.
Fred was a superb Pierce-Arrow Man with an excellent sense of how to move through the world making friends along the way.
