    Hi everyone!

The part of the week Im looking for is a pair of running board splash apron lights. I have seen them on a few 29′ cars and would like to ad them to mine.

Does anyone have a set of these, or know who might reproduce them? I have seen both round and rectangle. Which one is correct, or are they both???

    thanks, Rick

Not all series cars had them. I am not sure on 29 but the 30 and 31 cars had round on series B and 42, and series A and 41 were rectangle. I would not install them inless they are factory, or you will get points taken off when the car is judged. Ed.

My ’29 143 has the rectangle shaped lights.

I can take a picture of them and post it for you this evening.

But I agree if they weren’t available on the car don’t add them.

You car is one that I would restore to as close to factory as possible.

The 1929 Series 143 had the running board apron lights but the Series 133 did not.

My impression is that open cars, convertibles, and coupes did not come with courtesy lights. However the Pierce Arrow policy at purchase was that you could get almost anything you wanted, and those items would be included in the “build record””.”

Here is what was listed as a 29. It has the round running board lights and chrome splash apron spear. Not sure if it is correct, but it looks killer.

A DC with the running board light.

Richard……it comes down to what was factory correct. Most Pierce collectors like their cars bone stock. Extra bling on a car of this caliber is considered tacky by most. That said, it’s you car, do as you see fit. You could buy them and put them on the shelf and install them after you have had the car judged. I am sure others will chime in. Keep the photos and questions coming!

Round ones were on the very late in the run 1930 Model C sedan I owned from 1995 to 2006. I doubt that they were stock on the entry level Model C. More likely an extra ordered at time of purchase.
