There is one for sale on e-bay item # 290678846021. My question is: What does a “Seagrave engine” have to do with a pierce arrow car? Thanks in advance, Richard.

Seagrave used both the Pierce-Arrow eight and twelve cylinder engines in their fire engines. There were some modifications such as dual ignition and insert bearings. However, the engines essentially were the same. Seagrave designated the eight as as 80xx and the twelve as a 66xx where the “xx”” is a model number. Seagrave continued manufacture these engines until the 50’s.”

Thank you Mr. Johnson, I am in a learning curve on this message board. You folks have been a blessing to many of us that post here ( and perhaps those that read and dont post?) Did Pierce-Arrow make any Trucks?. Best regards Richard.

    Richard,

Pierce-Arrow made many trucks beginning in 1913, but few survived WWII scrapping. There are only about 20 trucks listed in the roster and many of those are incomplete. But if you come to the PAS Annual Meet in June you can see a superbly restored 1917 R-8 heavy hauler stake-bed on display in our Pierce-Arrow Museum at Hickory Corners, MI.

Many Pierce_Arrow trucks were used in France during World War One

There was a WWI Pirce-Arrow military truck at Portland, Oregon for years. It was painted with French markings. Apparently, the war ended prior to it being shipped and it was sold as is in the States. About ten years ago, it was sold to a party in England.
