Hi, what is recommended for replacement ignition wires? Specifically, I am replacing the wires on the 1931 Series 43. They appear to be typical black wires but I do not know if they are resistor, etc. or what would be best.

Randy I bought my wires and connectors from The Restoration Supply Company. 800-306-7008. The would not resistor type.

They should be stranded copper wires with black insulation.

    With black braded cotton covering?

    Jak,

I’ve used it with the braided cotton and also with the gloss black covering. Either way it should be plain with no markings on it.

    Jak,

As you likely know, the braided cotton covered wire is actually braided cotton over a plastic insulation, unlike the old days when it was just cotton over wire.

Bill is correct that either will work, but cotton covered is period correct.

My source for wire was Rhode Island Wire.

    How are things in OZ?
