We are putting a wench in my brothers enclosed car trailer that car handle my 1933 1247. I can not drive it to a scale as some of the parts are out for chrome. Does anyone know about what a 1247 twelve passenger sedan should weigh. This is in planning for next year’s meet in NV. Thanks, Doug Vogel

    Hi Doug,

According to the data I have, a 1247 weighs 5,550 pounds.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the weight. I was thinking just under 6000 lbs. We just want to make certain the wench can handle it. Doug V

Hi Doug, be sure to to feed and water that wench in the trailer :) Wench, a historical British Modern English colloquial term for a lower class woman and/or promiscuous woman.

The typo made me smile :)

My 33 1247 with fuel and water on a 147 in wb was 6712 lbs on the scale…. with me not in it. use 7000 as a safe guide. Ed

As per Jim’s note, a wench that can lift 7000 pounds is very scary.

I am laughing so hard!! Yes.. Winch not wench. My wife is trying to convert me to using a playbook instead of my laptop. It is good to have a good laugh once in a while. Thanks to everyone. Doug
