PAS Service Bulletin 95-2 page 2 has the information you need. A copy can be ordered from Member Pages under Back Issues.

If you happen to be in the middle of a reassembly and can’t wait for snail mail, here’s the reader’s digest version of the specs.

Use a circular tightening pattern starting at the center of the head and work outward.

Torque the first time around to 35 ft/lbs.

Torque the second time around to 65-70 ft/lbs.

Run the engine for 10 minutes or so to bring it up to operating temperature, then shut it off and let it cool down COMPLETELY.

Torque one more time at 65-70 ft/lbs and you are done.

    Best regards,

    Bill

Depending on the type and manufacture of the gasket, you may want to re-torque a third time.

It is very important to follow Bill’s instruction to let the engine cool completely to avoid damaging the threads in the block which can lead to big problems.
