Bob,
Thanks for the response. Ok,I think I understand the sub dash. The info on the screws and the paint is great. Is the area around the sub dash body color on your car?
Bill
A “worm”” search might be easier”
Bill,
Search for
Worm drive axle Reassembly, the seal is near the end.
Call or email me if you need more.

The one of the processes for making that part from steel sheet would be what is called drawing and ironing. That is how 2 piece beverage cans are made. You would need better steel than what was available then to stamp that cold. It could be hot forged also.
Another way to tell if it is cast is to measure the thickness in various areas
Here is what the brake lining and rivets look like.
Bill,
I got this off the web.
“Looking from the brushplate side, slide the third brush in the direction of rotation to increase, opposite to decrease”
I think Olson’s gasket will make individual gaskets. He might be able to advise you on your issue.

With the help of other members and some tech people, since my car (’33 836) has POWER BRAKES, I was able to source 15′ of Ferotec Friction Ltd. D3915 molded lining and 100 4-5 rivets, (I got the number off the rivet heads on the existing shoes).
I got them from Industrial Friction Materials Co in East Hampton, CT for under a kite flyer, including freight. Ask for Joe at 888-508-3794.
The material I got was .250 x 2.25″ and they need to be cut to 19″, holes drilled, countersunk and riveted to the shoe.
I talked to the tech guy at Ferotec and he said one critical thing is they have to be cured at 350-400 degrees F for 3 hours and either have to have the correct curvature or be mounted to the shoes as they cannot be flexed after they are cured.
If you have a shop that can reline yours, the spec sheets below may help

Again this is for the ’33 and later cars with Stewart Warner Power Brakes

I guess this is it. Calcium must be good for something. It must prevent aqueousporosis and possibly arterial hosemosis in the rubber hoses, but I am no DR.
Bill,
If you go to the Library section and put in your year and model there is a on line Owners Manual for the 12’s and there is a parts book you can get, if that helps.
Bill
I forgot. Reserve is not met at $250,000.
John C. probably has them also.
John,
I double checked and it is for a 3 1/2″ bore engine, which is the 337 CID, 9 bearing engine. The other engine is a 313 CID 5 main that is a 3 3/8″ bore. It appears to be a ’28 only engine, but I don’t know much about Studes except the factory for the post Avanti II, Avanti’s was across the street from my office in Youngstown, OH. Loved to watch them outside my window.
Rick,
What was the reason you had it rebuilt? Is the cutout/regulator ok?
Bill
Here is another one.
