    Jack,

The radiator and speaker grill are gone. I will go look and see if I have the shocks.

I ended up using Aaall States Transport. They are a broker that I used to get a car out of California a couple years ago.

They had Florida Pigeon Transport, LLC pick the car  up in a day and it was here the next. $250 to broker about $1/mile to the hauler. They had a 2 car enclosed hauler and he dropped it off in front of the house. Now I have direct contact with the carrier.

Car arrived in great shape and I got email updates like below. Worked great, this time.

Depending on how skillful you are you could try this

Technical – Motor, Removing Stuck Banger Head, Inliner Head or Flathead Head | The H.A.M.B. (jalopyjournal.com)

Have you tried using engine compression?

Put the plugs back in and turn it over.

in reply to: Powder Coat and Lab Metal #467454

They recommend Hi Temp Labmetal which has to have a bake cycle. I am in Colorado, but I will check on it when I get home.

There is a procedure for plating over it also.

    Adam, Tony and David,

Thanks for the input. I got an interesting response from Reliable

Thank you for inquiring! Unfortunately, this is not a traffic lane we are currently servicing. *

in reply to: ’33 Stewart-Warner power unit #466638

I was going to use CR-11776, which appears to be the correct OD/ID but are about 1/2 the thickness of the original. I was thinking of possibly using 2 back to back.

Here is a tool to help find seal numbers.

Sorry I didn’t see the second picture. They look correct.

in reply to: DO NOT FIT #466620

Looks like the ones off the ’33 windshield I have.  Maybe they are upside down?

    Frank,

Olcar has passed on. I may have the numbers on them. I am out of town and will check when I get back.

in reply to: 63rd Annual Meet #466224

Karl, Mary, Jane, Liz and the rest of the Meet Committee, just wanted t say thank you for a very enjoyable and beneficial Meet.

Having moved from Philly in the early 80’s it was great to revisit that part of PA, which I found amazing unchanged.

Great venues and I enjoyed putting faces and personalities with website names.

Seeing the finished cars and discussions that ended up resolving issues I have been dealing with, will motivate me to keep going.

Chassis is outside getting ready for paint and going back together. Don’t think I will make it with a car to ’22 but ’23 has potential .

    Thanks again.

in reply to: Spring shackle pin removal #466163

    Herb,

Well I have some of that in stock as it is used to soften rubber. I will have to give it a try.

Did you figure out our car noise?

    Thanks for driving.

    Bill

in reply to: Spring shackle pin removal #466130

The pins were able to be pressed out except for the rear most ones and they required the use of a BFH.

in reply to: Spring shackle pin removal #466129

I finished removing all the set screws and pins.

The set screws required at least one of the following techniques

From left to right. The offending set screw. All but one of the set screws in the springs came out with just a screwdriver, some in the frame required a SPEEDOUT which is basically a reverse rotation bit which helps center the bit in the screw, next was a left hand bit and finally a “F” drill bit for 5/16-18 tap. If the screw driver didn’t work, I center drilled the screw with the SPEEDOUT. If the other end of the bit that grabs the hole didn’t work, then I used a left had drill bit. If all else failed I just drilled out the hole with the “F” bit and retapped. I ended up retapping 3 holes

I have some front and rear leaf springs that are excess to my projects.

Does anyone need any, I can bring them to the meet?

    This might help.

in reply to: Speaker grille finish #465419

The one I have on e-bay is chromed brass with the chrome rim left unpainted and the inner part painted black, probably gloss.

I would think you would want to take the paint off the high spots of the crest so the chrome beneath it would stand out.
