The one I have on e-bay is chromed brass with the chrome rim left unpainted and the inner part painted black, probably gloss.

I would think you would want to take the paint off the high spots of the crest so the chrome beneath it would stand out.

The robe rail, dash and bumpers are spoken for.

Yes, I believe it is brass.

My ’54 Bentley had a similar system for the rear brakes with hydraulics on the front. Kind of overcame the low speed braking issue.

    Adam,

I was always told the worm drive made the car lower. My ’33 has a completely rebuilt worm gear, replete with the bull gear and non sulfur oil to protect the “yellow” metal.

I think Stutz’s or the era had them also.

There is an elderly (aren’t we all it seems) gentleman in Ga that had the 1975 National first place 1928 Model 81 convertible coupe, with rumble seat.

If that will work, I will see if I can contact him. He has dropped out of the club, which isn’t a good sign.

The ’33-’35 , “8’s” have that also, front and rear. ’33 is different in the rear because of the bevel gear axle vs ring and pinion of ’34-35.

This conduit is unpainted and doesn’t have the grommets, but I thought it would be easier to check the lengths. I have another one that is painted with the grommets.

The ’30 lengths worked. Just trying to figure the routing for the coil wire and what does in the hole on the top of the metal loom at the left end. Coil wire enter here from the firewall?

    Adam,

What years are the cars you are looking at?

Welcome and good luck with your search.

    Thanks Bob,

I guess I am looking for one of those on the right. Put an ad in the Emporium.

Anyone need a later 8 valve. Probably ’34/35 on?

in reply to: Oil bypass routing #427339

    Thank you Bob and Don,

Here are the 2 relief valves I have.  The top is supposedly ’33 and the bottom is ’35 and has a small fitting out of the top right angle elbow.

Based on the picture of Larry’s car. This valve is directly under the oil filter but has only one opening. The 2 I have have 2 outlets and a sliding cap and sleeve internally which I think bypasses the oil if there is too much pressure to the filter (clogged?)

There are 2 part numbers and there appears to be a break at engine 235121.

    Don,

Ok, that gives me my answer. I don’t know that the parts are authentic, but I can follow the flow.

    Thanks for the help.

    Bill
