My car was sold in Nov ’29 so it makes sense that it has the very late ’29/’30 style radiator.
There are lots of parts on mine that are a mix of ’29/’30.
That cover is in pretty rough shape but it would work for someone who is missing the entire piece.
The UU2 bowl has internal passages so it’s not just a bowl to hold the fuel.
3D printing metal parts would be great and I really look forward to when we can affordable do it at home.
It would be awesome for the PAS to have a library of files available for members to download and print parts in their own garage.
The one on ebay is cracked, can that be repaired before installation?
It appears to be brass, will brazing the crack hold up over time?
The air horns are interchangeable so your air cleaner will fit if you swap the air horns.
The 2nd carb could have bad venturies, they go bad due to age, or it may have the wrong jets.
Send them both to a reputable carb shop and see if they can get you one in good working order.
John Cislak is a good place to start.
If you notice, the main unit is not connected at all on my car.
The unit does not function properly and pretty much hasn’t ever since I can remember.
I’ll have to tackle that one of these days.
The actual billows inside the Shutterstat.
2nd
Try again.
Let’s see if these pictures are small enough to post.
Not score – scour
The only one I know of with good cores right now is John Cislak.
You could score the swap meets or classified ads in places like Hemmings but I think John has some on the shelf.
UUS carbs in decent shape are getting real hard to come across these days.
Very interesting idea, Greg.
It shouldn’t be hard to do.
And if you have a water jacket like Dave’s that doesn’t have the baffle on the back it would be a great place to start.
Greg, thanks for identifying what year the water jackets I have will work on.
The blue one was on our ’29 for years, it was just flipped upside down and a molded piece of water hose was used to connect the water pump to the water inlet.
It was funky having the water do a U turn and go into the engine but it still moved water just fine.
I’m not sure when, but it must have been about 13 years ago we sourced a reproduction from Dave Murray and have had that one on the car ever since.
The second one must have come in a batch of parts I picked up in Las Vegas about 10 years ago.
Obviously both need to be plated but they are fully functional.
Back sides of the assemblies.
Measured from the front edge of the entire assembly.
Here is a close up of the measurements on the water jackets I have.
Surprising that none of the PAS historians have chimed in with any information that the PAS has on the car.
It has a very interesting history, I hope you’re able to locate the car.
The sedan was a steal at $35,000.
It seems that there have been quite a few auctions lately that don’t bother to properly promote pre-war cars.
