I have been collecting stuff like this for years and have never seen the LA oil change badge till Hershey this year. Very cool! I like the dealer and factory small items. They are much harder to find than cars! I had never seen the coin token until Hershey this year either. With more than one such item floating around it is probably a reproduction. Most pocket watches have modern face replacements with poor graphics and can be recognized as reproductions. Watch fobs found at Hershey are almost all 1950’s reproductions. Keep up the search……..below is a unique dealer item I brought home last week. Ed.
Cislak should have the bezel, send him a photo, he had a bunch of them on the shelf yesterday.
The 32 block is a one year only block and is different from all others. While any eight will fit, to be correct it should have a 32 engine. Many cars don’t have the correct engine, some people do not mind the swap outs, others like myself only like to run the exact correct year and series block. It may or may not effect resale value. So it’s best to try and stay with the correct engine.
Last one…….. Thanks again To Dave for putting on a first class display. We are very luck to have him. Countless hours of hard work for the club and museum, we can not thank him enough.
A few more……
And another……

While on Martha’s Vineyard last month I was hit in the rear and my exhaust deflector was bent like a wet noodle. Not much other damage.
Both packard and Cadillac offered them when new in the era. Installing one would and should be fine, just don’t use a modern style tip. I have one on my 1936 Pierce.
I too will take a spot but am not sure what day yet. But I WILL take one.
Thanks John. I made offers on both the cars two years ago. I wasn’t too far off on the parts car. It could be saved but it needed a total restoration.
Interesting high bid and reserve price. Anyone know what the 1601 parts car went for?
I am fortunate to have been raised around big cars all my life, I just bought a nice 15 T touring last year. It’s a hoot to drive, and I enjoy it as much as any other collector car I have owned. It’s not about the cost, it’s about how much fun you are having.
That was a very good price for that car. Someone will have a lot of fun driving it, it runs like the wind.
John Cislak is making these new, with modern sealed bearings, just drop in and run. Give him a call, the first batch will be ready and on display at Hershey. There are three diffrent types, give him a call. Ed
Tony, I think 29 is a one year only style, then there are two others like you mentioned. I am not sure of the change over date. Like Karl said, often it’s not just the thermostat missing, but all the linkage and cover. Often people buy entire radiators to get what they need. I was told that the current rebuilding cost of a broken unit is around 300 dollars.
Got it Tony, fixed the ad.
Cislak has both new and used ones on the shelf, as of yesterday.
Interesting, I have never seen one with two key slots, just one. Thanks for posting.
