Bill, those are some great pics.
And yet another example of why PAS people are so great.
They’ll go out and pull the wheels to take pictures to help out another member.
Speaking of tattoos, how about a nice little Tramp Stamp right above the trunk?
Ha!
Sure, you could order a new Pierce pretty much anyway you wanted but there is a pretty small market for Liberace style vehicles.
I’m sure these cars will find a new home with satisfied owners.
And if these cars sell below market because of their ‘look’ hopefully their new owners will rapidly grow an appreciation for Pierce Arrows and feel the need to buy more PAs.
William, I agree with you on wanting to be cautious with original wiring.
My car is very original stem to stern and I only use the candle power rated bulb as called for in the owner’s manual.
If I absolutely must run at night I use a battery operated LED light or two on the rear of the car to provide extra visibility to other drivers.
Looks like that switch got man handled a few times.
You’re going above and beyond with this project.
Keep the photos and updates coming.
You just know there will be plenty of people that will fall for that commercial.
The owner’s manual for the 1934 840A has the following listed for bulbs –
Headlamps 32cp
Auxiliary 6cp
Instrument Panel 3cp
Dome Lamps 15cp
Tonneau Lamps 6cp
Backing Light 21cp
Stop Lights 21cp
Tail Lights 6cp
Lock Light 3cp
Congratulations Robert, that is one gorgeous Pierce.
The PAS is the best group of auto enthusiasts there is and your story is further proof of that.
You are lucky to have such a supportive wife, treat her and your new Pierce well.
That is one rough car.
Ambitious restoration is an understatement.
From the pictures I saw Oivind started with less and put together an amazing car, maybe he’s ready for a similar project?
Good luck with getting the cab all squared away.
That truck is lucky to have someone like you breathe new life into it.
Wow.
My heart sank when I saw the title of this post.
Great to see that Fay is once again being recognized for his great talent and contributions to our hobby and the Pierce Arrow marque.
That was a very interesting video.
Thanks for posting.
Working in a tire plant back then was a tough job.
Not a whole lot of safety features on those machines.
As long as the file isn’t really large it should upload just fine.
Just browse to where the file is on your PC and click submit.
If you’re on a phone I can’t help you since I don’t use my phone for anything other than making calls.
Looks good.
You know you’re in the home stretch when it goes into paint.
Here is a listing for a ’35 to ’38 radiator cap that is NOS and is less than $19 shipped.
Appears that the seller has more than one available.
Wow, that looks great.
I spoke with Dave a little earlier and the order process couldn’t have been easier.
Even though January is over I am excited to get my calendars.
Thanks again Dave for the opportunity to support the museum.
I think John’s cars sold below what they should have.
The ’31 was a steal at $19k.
I know we have a pedal car expert in our ranks.
Was it Richard LeRoy that is the expert?
Hopefully he sees this post and gets back to you in time.
