    Bob,

Thanks for another rescue. I email Cord and he said he didn’t have any.

    Peter,

Is the guy selling all the Trippe parts tied in with Cord and the White Glove venture?

    Thanks for the help.

    Bill,

Here is a picture of a 1236 dash if that helps. Looks like the left one.

    Richard,

Not a clue. I got this off another classic car site that listed Automotive Restorations in Lebanon,New Jersey.

Maybe a call to them. I will post come other pics including a nice’33 Pierce. These are from 2015

    Rick,

Restoration Supply http://www.restorationstuff.com used to sell 1/2 and 1/4 round metal. They list it on their page, but I couldn’t get the catalogue to load.

I bought some stainless steel years ago as side trim on a Morgan DHC. You can cut it, BEND it, drill it, tap it, weld it and polish it to look like chrome.

I think I used 1/4 round 1/2″. Brass would work too, just have to plate it. Another trip to one of the people who you share your wealth with.

    Peter,

I thought about that, but there is a very close tolerance between the support housing and the bolt head. It is a serrated head (see photo).

I can’t find a socket/wrench that will fit and I don’t want to destroy the bolt, which is unique.

    Thanks

    Richard,

All I can figure out is he must be very proud of these, because, as you point out, they have been in the water for awhile.

    Anyone know the Locomobile guy?

I have a ’35 shaft. I was going to see how easy it is to swap. I have the trans and diff yokes along with the shaft. May need to change the length.

I appreciate the 1 ton truck and China input. You need to be careful.

I was working with probably the largest independent drive shaft manufacturer in the US. They were in the process of sourcing some of their steel parts to China.

I recommend verifying country of origin

Kind of late, but here are the ends

Ok, thanks to all for the input.

Since there is no tribal knowledge of an alternative fix, I am going with modern transplants.

    Edgar,

Mine has the cross journals built into the shaft. There is no “X”” to replace.

I debated trying like a ’35 shaft that does have the replaceable uj’s.

    Thanks

And I am hoping I can find one of the missing ’33 Silver Arrows in a local junk yard. Let me know if that woman needs a new husband.

I have a ’35 gearbox. So with MBS’s engine and $90K x 2 or 3, you too can have a Napa wine country tour bus. You can even have a Pierce Ice Box on board to keep everything cool.
