Scott,
John Cislak has made larger carburetor jets for Stromberg EE3’s (and others), we have these on our ’36 and they help prevent vapor locking from alcohol gas. Stu
Scott,
Adding to Ed’s comments, John Cislak sells a fittings kit to install a larger diameter fuel line (approx. 1/16″ larger). This combined with an electric fuel pump has prevented any alcohol gas / vapor lock issues for us on hot days. We also have the original aluminum head on our ’36 Eight which was just recently removed to replace a head gasket; there were no issues either removing or re-installing the head. Stu”
Bob, Thank you for posting this article which states the WW I memorial plaque is to be restored and reinstalled.
Preservation of the deteriorated plaque has been discussed separately on this message board.
There are now small 3D printing shops who take in counter work. A recent episode of Wheeler Dealers on the Velocity channel needed a car part not available anywhere. A quick trip to a 3D printer business (in L.A.), layout on CADCAM and “how many of these (parts) do you want?” As time progresses, 3D printing cost should come down with improved technology plus competition among 3D printer businesses.
Further to Ed’s comments about the scarcity of UU2 bowls, has anyone looked into 3D metal digital printing? If you have a complete carb with a cracked bowl, a digital metal copy could be made, machined and the internal parts swapped into the new casting. Here’s a link to an interesting video showing current capabilities of 3D metal printing technology.
Syd, A quick search of “water jacket” under PAS’ Parts & Services lists 29-38 Eights water jacket available through:

A big thank you to Dave & Diana for hosting their 15th great Gathering at Gilmore.
Logistically, this is a major accomplishment to direct everyone down the same scenic roads and keep everyone very well fed plus entertained and for 3 1/2 days! And Dave & Diana make this happen every year seemingly with ease.
Those PAS members who have attended the Stevens’ patented Gathering in beautiful Western Michigan know what an enjoyable and memorable event this is.
Clara & Stu Blair
Bob,
The 2016 advertisement for it with another photo is archived in the Emporium.
Go to the SEARCH (at the top) and enter keyword “Broadmoor”” the 2016 ad with a lengthy description will be retrieved.

Bob,
There’s a good photo of it on this site.
Under Announcements, go to 2018 Annual Meet, at the top, click on Previous Meets Photos – then click on Kalamazoo-2012.
The photos are ascending by year, it’s about half way down.

Bill Morris, trying to put a positive “spin” on our 1601’s last flat tire, reminded me, “it’s only flat on the bottom…”
I’m optimistic these new American-made tubes, combined with Greg Long’s high-temp HVAC tape wrapped around the inside of the wheel, will provide many trouble-free miles.
I’ll make it a point to take a few photos to post here of the tires and tubes being mounted – most likely in the next few week.
Hi Tony,
Bill Lyons bought the 5 “extra” tubes from me earlier this week.
The drop shipment directly from Firestone arrived today.
GCR Tire (phone # posted above) was sure easy to deal with, why not give them a call?
Regards, Stu
Tube update: Firestone does not sell retail/direct, but their customer service person referred me to one of their dealers who was very helpful in expediting my order – GCR Tire, Ashtabula, Ohio, (440) 992-4406, I spoke with the manager Shawn Herron who quickly processed my order for one box of 10 tubes (this is Firestone’s minimum order qty.) p/n 534-099.
Total with Ohio sales tax (I’m subject since I live in OH) was $224.18 and that includes free shipping for this drop-ship order coming directly from Firestone in Russellville, AR.
Hi Jim,
Today, I called Firestone / Bridgestone Tube in Russellville, Arkansas.
Their p/n 534-099 which is a light-duty truck 7.00R7.50R16LT tube with a TR-15-CW valve stem is made in Russellville, USA!!!
See page 2 of their current catalog – direct link attached.

Thank you for the lead, Stu
George,
Thank you for the talcum powder information; “tire talc”” is available through NAPA and other auto parts stores.
Stu”
Hello George,
Would you please advise the name of the supplier you obtained the light-duty radial truck tubes from? And where were they made?
We plan to follow Greg’s recommendation and have already obtained the high-temp HVAC tape; but there’s no point in replacing thin Chinese tubes with more of the same.
An old car friend who owned a Goodyear store years ago also recommended using generous amounts of talcum powder when the tires are being mounted onto the rim.
We’ve had 3 flats on our ’36; one more and I might just qualify for an Indy pit crew!
Thanks-Stu
Hello Arvydas,
A Wiring and Tune-up Guide (for 1913-1938 models) is available through the PAS Company Store; see the “Members” tab farthest to the right-hand side.
Good luck, Stu Blair
