Very nice find.
Unfortunately for me, my splash pans were removed sometime before the 60’s and I have not acquired another set.
Heck, I didn’t even know the car should have had a set until I really paid attention to other Pierce Arrows in the 90’s.
Before that, it was just the way the car had always been.
Liz, it worked as it should from my office PC.
No idea why it ddin’t work at home other than maybe I hadn’t turned off my VPN and that interfered with the PayPal process.
Thanks for another great calendar to display.
I just completed the order for 2 calendars using the PayPal method but I was never directed to the PayPal site so I could fulfill the payment.
The order finalized with a ‘Pending Payment’ heading.
What address should I direct the PayPal payment to?
Thanks for another great calendar for my office wall and one as a gift.
Keep the pictures coming.
As someone that lives in Calif and wasn’t able to attend, you have no idea how much it pains me to have missed this meet.
But retirement is about 5 years away and I will be a regular attendee no matter the location.
Ed, thanks for sharing your experiences and your advice to use FedEx for shipping.
That is so disheartening to hear.
What a horrible way to lose pieces for your car.
I’m sure there are some replacements out there somewhere but it doubt they will be cheap. Then they will still need to be rebuilt after you find them.
Incidents like this are why I am always very hesitant to ship rare parts for service.
I hope the insurance on the package helps take the sting out of obtaining replacements.
John Cislack should probably be the first place you look for another pair of shocks.
Good luck with your hunt for another set.
Rear door looks to be only marginally cut by the rear fender so I was guessing it was a 143.
My very late 143 has the Twolite lenses.
Looks to be a 143 and possible Limousine.
Wrong headlight lenses because it looks like the lenses are not flat.
Another antique car behind it but can’t tell what that one is.
Doesn’t look to be Pierce.
A lot of active members are at the National Meet this week so responses may be slow.
But I had always heard that chrome was not in the Pierce line until ’29 or ’30 so that would mean any ’25 or ’26 car should have nickel accents.
I’m sure a few of our Series 80 experts will chime in and give you definitive answer.
Keeping extra parts that you send them is nonsense.
That right there would be enough for me to never do business with them after the 2nd time they did that.
Randy, how long ago was this?
My last dealings with Five Points was about 8 years ago.
George, you are correct.
It is Five Points in Santa Ana.
No idea why I had Apple Hydraulics on my mind when I responded originally.
Syd, sorry for the confusion.
I have used Apple Hydraulics in Santa Ana with great results.
They were a little pricey compared to other places listed in the Parts & Services directory but since they are here in So Cal I was able to just drop off and pick up my shocks.
They do great work and since you are also in So Cal they may be your best bet, especially if you don’t want to risk shipping your shocks.
William, you picked up a beautiful automobile and a V12 to boot!
Good luck sorting her out.
The experts here will have you happily motoring along in not time.
So…what about those of of that have genuine wood trim in various places and would like to restore that trim?
I know all of this has been discussed at various times in many threads over the years but it would be extremely helpful to members, both new and old, if a comprehensive list was put together and posted in a format similar to the parts and services directory.
The knowledge on this board never ceases to amaze me.
My ’29 143 ED Limo is about 75 inches at its tallest point.
I was generous just eyeballing the tape measure so it could be just a tad shorter.
William, I was about to post that Chrysler had hydraulic brakes in 1924 when they transitioned from Maxwell.
They also had inner and outer brakes on the rear drums, I believe.
It has been awhile since I have seen the 1924 Chrysler roadster a cousin is restoring but from what I remember that is the brake setup.
I know that plaque has its rightful place on the Pierce Arrow Building but it sure would look great in the PAS museum where it would be cared for like it should be.
