Dave, can you send me an email with the dimensions and exact details so I can see if it would fit in my EDL?
Thanks!
Thank you for sharing your very thorough research.
That looks like a great piece.
I have no idea if it is an original piece or not but it sure looks great.
That new chain looks so much better.
Will you have to drop the oil pan to properly seal the timing cover and oil pan?
I renewed my dues earlier using the method outlined above.
Worked like a charm.
Wouldn’t Oivind Grimsmo hold the undisputed record for worst car to ever be resurrected?
His ’30 was really, really bad.
I thought John Cislack has some of those discs.
You might want to contact hims and see.
I don’t know about other late teens Pierce Arrows, but Ralph McKittrick’s car can really scoot.
During the Oregon meet we could keep up with him around town or in traffic but once we hit open road he was gone.
It was a majestic sight to see that beautiful red Pierce just thundering down the road.
I am extremely sorry to hear about Ernie’s passing.
As stated, he was a very generous and welcoming man, always eager to share his love of cars and his Pierce Arrows with everyone.
Ernie allowed us to store our ’29 at his place overnight when we had engine ignition troubles on a tour during the 2006 meet.
When we asked if we could leave our car overnight and pick it up in the morning, he said with a sly smile, ‘Sure, I’m sure there a few ’29 parts I could manage to grab overnight’.
My thoughts go out to his family and to his close friends in the So Cal PAS Region.
He will be sorely missed.
One of our mascots has a chain to keep someone from just walking away with it but I still never let the car out of my sight when I am stopped somewhere.
Didn’t someone steal a mascot off a car on one of the tours during a PAS Meet?
Pulled up on a motorcycle, swiped it and rode off?
Wow. Amazing that someone would have the guts to steal a mascot right out in front of everyone.
Not only has it been for sale a number of times it does not look like anything has changed during the multiple times it’s been for sale.
Dave’s ’22 Pierce would be a great one to own.
He had some very nice cars and did a tremendous amount of work for the PAS and the old car hobby in general.
He will be sorely missed.
Congrats on the Sponsorship Award.
You have a great car, what’s not to like?
Looks like the weather held up for you guys further up the coast.
Enjoy the show and tour and I hope you can find a new caretaker for your great Pierce, although I wish you were able to keep your car.
Seems that Herbert fell victim to the dreaded double http:// when he posted his link.
Let’s see if this one will work.

I got a couple when they first went on sale.
The last few years I have had one in my office and now I have coworkers come into my office every 1st of the month to see what the new car for the month will be.
Bill, can you post the info for the company you have found?
It’s off topic, but I could use to have a new back half of the water pump cast in aluminum for my Rickenbacker.
With fewer than 40 known survivors it’s a little tough sourcing parts when parts fail or wear out.
Thanks.
How similar is the ’29 to the ’31?
I can take pics of how mine is run if they are similar enough.
Would also be a chance for the experts here to let me know how authentic my exhaust is.
I wouldn’t write it off as a parts car since it looks so complete.
Would be a shame to lose another Pierce to the torch.
