With all the devastation due to weather events in the news I have also been wondering about our PAS family in the affected areas.
Alan stated it much better than I could have, so if there are any PAS members that suffered damage or have any tales to tell, please let us know.
As usual, Greg comes through with some great advice and real world experience.
Thanks for always chiming in, I learn a ton from guys like you and the other experts in the PAS.
Every marque has their quirks and most of my Pierce experience with our ’29 so I love learning about all the other Pierces.
Resistor color code chart.
Using this you can decode almost any resistor you have in your pile of parts.

That looks like more fun than Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.
Is that ’26 the Frankencar that has been discussed here before?
Because that seems like an awfully low estimate for an open car and the proportions just don’t look right.
Some gorgeous and significant cars will change hands soon.
Hopefully the new owners see fit to join the PAS.
Ken, posting a link and/or serial number of the car you’re looking at would allow our top notch sleuths to research the vehicle and get you as much information as they can dig up.
Good luck with your quest and yes, David Coco is PAS treasure.
We are very fortunate he’s chosen the Pierce Arrow marque as his marque of choice.
Thank you for your yearly efforts to secure the Optima battery deal.
And I can vouch for their longevity.
I had a red top in my Pierce for 10 years before I swapped it out.
The battery was still operating just fine but it was old so I decided to replace it before it failed.
Our Pierce and our Rickenbacker were purchased by leads from other ‘car’ people.
I had one set of Houdaille shocks done at Four Points in Santa Ana.
The job was done well but they are very pricey.
I was going to try and have the other set done in Oregon.
Not sure what all they did to my shocks but when I picked them up the guy said all they did were seals, said the inside was fine.
Asked me where I found them since they looked like they had very, very low miles on them.

If you’re on the East Coast.
Nice looking car, David.
Mutual love is a thing of beauty, unrequited love never ends well for anybody.
That is a very special Pierce Arrow that deserves to be lovingly restored to its former glory.
I’m sure it will end up in Pebble Beach eventually.
What a gem of a theater and an amazing instrument.
That had to be a special treat.
Good job, David.
Did anyone grab video of this performance?
If so, I’d love to see it.
That spring looks like it belongs inside the fork tube on a motorcycle.
I bet that is under a lot pressure when it is compressed.
Thanks for the updates.
I purchased my sealing washers from Dave Murray.
The washers for the water jacket on the side of a PA straight 8 are comprised of two metal halves with a composite materiel in the middle that will ‘crush’ when the bolt is tightened.
The metal halves appear to be fairly soft so they will distort enough to provide a seal.
The washers may be the same for the earlier cars.
The Broadmoor must have had some serious clout at that time.
To have a PA engineer perform days or weeks of testing and to have Conoco formulate and refine a special blend of fuel just for their cars.
Great looking car.
Sitting at $32,700 right now.
