The interior wood looks to be in great shape.
Were radios standard for 1933?
Neat truck.
It is better traveled than most people, born in New York and then sent to France during WWI, shipped to Canada, used in a few movies in the US and then shipped to the UK where it is now.
Don’t forget your kidney belt if you plan to drive it anywhere with those solid rubber tires.
I don’t think there should be only one Emporium.
I think a public Emporium and PAS only Emporium would keep parts being offered to PAS members first or only being offered to PAS members.
There are plenty of times where parts are offered very cheap or even free to fellow members and a public Emporium should not hinder this very generous practice.
Advertising rules can be hammered out such as they parts or services offered must directly benefit Pierce related vehicles, bicycles and the like – meaning no advertising Ford Model T or A parts that have zero to do with the PAMCC, while shock rebuilding services or parts would be relevant.
Just a few thoughts is all.
I think a non-member classifieds section would be a great addition to the site.
It will definitely drive more traffic to this site and maybe even cause some to join once they get a taste of the PAS experience.
Steve, it all depends on what you are trying to do in Calif.
It took me months just to register YOM plates to my Rickenbacker.
And even after all that hassle I am still charged a ‘special plate’ fee every year when I renew the registration.
A great story and a beautiful car.
Now that your wayward Pierce has found its way back to the family you need to make sure it stays in family.
Enjoy your grandfather’s Pierce and enjoy all the new memories you will make.
I’ve also picked up 6v coils from NAPA as well but a VW place will most likely be cheaper.
And I forgot to add – Jim please post some pictures of your new Pierce.
She looks lovely in the one photo you posted.
Congrats on the new Pierce!
Tom, your answer is spot on.
I took my door lock assembly to an old school locksmith and he was able to cut a key for it no problem.
He did kind of scratch his head when I told him it was for a ’29 Pierce Arrow but he found a blank that worked great.
A 155″ wheelbase car would be an absolute beast.
Most modern parking lots would be quite inadequate for a vehicle that size.
Paul, great illustrations of an interesting topic.
That engine is in spectacular shape!
It has to be one of the most well preserved pieces of early Pierce history you’ll ever run across.
Even if you found a Motorette it would be shame to hide that engine inside a body.
Very nice find, especially it being in running condition.
Congrats on your new piece of Pierce history.
Restoration Supply in Escondido also carries welting.
It is on page 51 of their catalog.
Their number is 800.306.7008
They are in the parts and services directory.
It was done much better than most but it would have been nice to see the owner put that effort into a proper restoration.
Thanks for sharing.
That does look like an amazing reproduction.
Great job.
I should be in the area around that time and it would be great to meet up with you if you have some spare time during your visit.
Drop me an email or give me a call so we can setup the particulars.
Craig
Great info.
Thanks for posting.
I will definitely keep this in mind when I purchase oil for my next oil change.
Congrats on reaching this huge milestone!
Everything should come together much faster now.
Thanks for keeping us up to date.
Not sure what they belong to but they are in very nice shape.
It is a very elegant car.
Good to hear that your wife has taken a liking to the car.
It’s always so much easier when your other half shares the same passion for Pierce Arrows as you do.
Then again, Pierce Arrows tend to bring out something special in everyone.
