Thanks Dave. Hate to say it, but they were double digits for 6. Strip, stainless spokes, chrome, assemble and true. It killed me me. However, chrome wheels was one of my have to have items.

You can ad my computer as having the problem. Our computer might be too small to handle 10 and it’s effecting speed and details.

    Hi all,

I was wondering if members would be annoyed the posting was not Pierce. I’m happy everyone has had fun with it :)

I’m sure the storage conditions of my bottle were not exemplary. I’m pretty sure this bottle would be less then wonderful if cracked open. However, the bottles life has come back to be the mascot of the DC Phaeton. If not drunk, what better life could a special bottle ask for ;))

I’m glad people like the story. I apologize for my ever increasing typos. My fingers are too fat for my phone. This coupled with auto correct, I’m doomed. Thanks for everyone’s patience.

Does anyone know anything about ” old” wines, champagnes!!!!?

    Thanks. Rick

    Hi all!

I am so fortunate. My restoration guys brother happened to be a metal guy. He does it as a side gig. My guy called him after the aprons did not handle the blasting. His brother knocked them both out in a day. My guy just smiled and said he loves bending metal. I have not received my bill for them yet but will share it once it arrives. My guy said his brother knocks out projects in two hours that takes others eight. I will let you know. The detail in the shields is amazing.

FYI: I live in a small town about an hour away from the big city. The restoration shop is about two miles from me. The mechanic is also about 10 minutes from me. He is a retired mechanic of 40 years. He loves this car

The upholstery shop is only 20 minutes from me. He is sitting patiently for the car. He should have the car early summer of 2016.

I am very fortunate. I would not be able to afford big name restoration shops. They all quoted $300-400,000 min. Bye the time I’m done, I expect to be in the car WITH the price of the car, under 200, maybe 190. :D. I will let people know so they shop around. People like me that barely can hold a wrench need to stick together.

in reply to: Rear footrest for open phaeton?.?? #401036

Ok! Back to my original question . Is there a footrest that fits the floor with storage compartment?

    Thanks. Rick

in reply to: Rear footrest for open phaeton?.?? #401035

The storage compartment wood matches that of the shelf above it. It looks to be original to me.

I will go to the shop and take a photo. Mine too has the shelf as you describe. However, mine has a storage compartment that is built on an angle on the floor. There is a finger hole to pull lid open. It is hinged on the floor and pulls open toward the rear seat.

in reply to: Rear footrest for open phaeton?.?? #401019

The rear floor in the DC phaeton has a storage compartment behind front seat. It shortens the distance for a foot rest significantly. Was there a footrest with shorter distance that would fit my car?

Here is a picture of my original sales flyer for the majestic. Can anyone aproximate the yeR based on the car and planes in the flyer. $87.50. Wow!

in reply to: Restored 29/30 majestic radio pics. #401004

Thanks for all the info. Here is what the radio restorer told me:

    1. The antenna would be placed under the running board.

    2. The radio could be as eRly as late 29 but is probably 30. He indicated the tubes were significantly larger in early 29 and older.

    3. Eds date of 32 could also be correct because G & G sold their company but did not upgrade their inventory before the sale. So, the 30 radio is the same as the 32.

If this is true, we will never know the exact date of my radio.
