Sold to a PAS member to save a car with bad wood. At least the hot rod guys didn’t get it. Ed

Hi Tony, The car was a Delux, with the big tail lights, and other trim, so maybe it was just the upgrade package. Ed

Hi Roger, I don’t know the name, but it must have a one way check valve to stop the water from leaking out, if you install a regular cup, it WILL leak. They probably are the same on all the big cars. Ed

Tim, the 955-z may id it, but there were also two different water pumps and they were driven by two different drive set ups. I am not sure if all the parts interchange. Be sure you get a photo of what you are buying as it could be expensive shelf art. Bill Morris has a 29 and could probably give you some good insight on the changes done in 29. Good Luck! Ed

You need to post a photo of your old one as there are two or three kinds. They differ by mounting bracket and drive type if I remember. Ed

PAS members, I just listed a 1934 836a body in very good condition on ebay. 1000 dollars minimum bid with no reserve. I have offered his car to the club members for 3800.00 and there were no takers. Now it will go. Very good wood and tin. Body, doors, trunk lid, front and rear fenders, hood, nose tin, frame, front axle, partial rear end. Save it from the hot rodders. Read ebay ad. Thanks, Ed Minnie posting for John Cislak.

As I recall it ran quite well, and was a very nice car. I should not last long at that price. Ed

Please post or email his seller Id for ebay, as there is a person also selling Pierce parts that are broken in the photos but listed as good. Ed

in reply to: Salon features #395287

The above information is better than I could have done, Salon term was used from 1930 to 1934 and maybe 35. Different variations on the above, usually on the largest series car early on, then across the board by 34. Example all non Pierce bodies were Salon models in 31 to 33. It also applied to some of the Pierce bodies. Ed

in reply to: 1934 V12 Chassis on Ebay #395276

Number was 3530084, I found my photo of it. That makes it a 34 on 144 wb. Ed.

Stu, I didn’t know there were any other cars that started with “p””. :-)

Why would anyone want one? Ed”

in reply to: Pre-oil 8 cyl engine #395268

You could use an external oil pot, I have used them in the past, but with an engine that has already been run, I would just pull the plugs and crank the engine till it builds pressure, and do it two or three times, then I would install the plugs and fire it off. It should be fine. Ed

PS, a oil change with lighter oil would be ok also, BEFORE you start it.

in reply to: 1931 model 43 roadster #412256

I would listen to Leo, he has owned one of these cars, and the car in the photos has lots of what I would call “issues”. Before you spend any money on it I would have a Pierce expert look at it in detail and give you a detailed written description of it, both to condition, and correct and incorrect parts, panels, ect. Use caution when you buy ANY OPEN PIERCE ARROW. Ed
