Hi Charles, sharing this trucks progress coming back is a great asset to the board-thanks!
Best-John
Bump!
Ed, I look forward to see the MA fellas and the car. Will your schedule allow?
Wow-that’s an innovative way to fix rod noise.
Looks great Ed!
Great info-thank you Calvin
I remember the car at the Yeska spot too. It was driven by Craig at the Warwick RI meet in 2014. Oivind, if you have the Arrow from that meet, there should be some nice pic’s.
John
Jim, the board meeting is in Tucson, Sunday Feb. 26. Perhaps you can attend to present your perspective. A little Shakespeare for the board of directors may have value.
I’m sure your views would be welcome and considered.
I think this subject should be tabled here and added to the Winter agenda as Peter suggests. It is an important topic and the tent Dave oversees represents our club, thus the board should review and offer direction.
It’s understood that economics, traditions and long standing red field reservations are in play-we need to review all pros and cons before action is taken.
If people have opinions on the matter, I suggest they be shared with Rich Lange, who will be the ultimate arbitrator.
Happy holidays to my good friend in MA!-please share my wishes w/ John too!
Those old piston knurling tools are out there and are great if the bore doesn’t a have significant taper-if it’s around .005 your will wear out rings quickly.
Reworking the top ring groove and adding a spacer as you gents describe is good stuff too.
Bill, don’t take my post as a need to refrain or reframe. I appreciate your contributions whatever format.
Best Wishes to you this holiday season!
James I agree, many aftermarket pistons can be twice as heavy with lots of material around the wrist pin to make up strength for the missing strut. They require extra piston to bore clearance and often rattle on start up.
When I read an add that says ‘rebuilt’ engine, I usually don’t take comfort.
Bill, you are indeed a unique talent-ask a question on the board and populate the string with interesting responses too!
These style pistons, either original, NOS or new would be my preference in a rebuild.
John
Michael I must say, you would look great in any of those!
John
Good stuff David-I wonder what lead to this…
Good stuff Kenneth!
That is an amazing repro Bill. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for the due diligence on this topic George!
Hi Ed, that car is a real dandy. You showed me pic’s of this car and shared the amazing story at the PAS tent at Hershey. This is a story worth writing up and putting in the Arrow if you would be willing to do so.
Also, I hope you were able to sell the 28 roadster-it was nice too.
John
Beautiful event and pic’s.
Thank you for sharing Ben and Linnea
